The one-to-one lessons, also known as Functional Integration or F.I., are the hands on application of the Feldenkrais method®.
The individualization creates the conditions to be as particular, as you want and we can address your personal needs. Once, we have discussed what that might be, you lie or sit on a low padded table. You will be always fully clothed. I`ll be using precise and gentle touch, sometimes verbal instructions, to offer your with opportunities to explore the ways you prefer to move, enrich your sensory image and deepen your understanding how what you do, affects the ways you experience movement. And finally what you can do differently, to avoid discomfort or pain. I`ll be helping you to reach new movement options and recognize your old-established habits. Each session is dedicated to your unique movement make up, as no two people are the same in the way they organize to move. It usually lasts an hour.
You might become aware of those new possibilities for a movement that your nervous system registers, straight after the one-to-one session. Sometimes when more complex patterns are affected, it might take a few hours for you to notice and begin to accommodate those new and exciting options.
Many people report, feeling more comfortable in their own skin, relaxed, energized, pain-free balanced and above all embodied in a new agile and empowering way. It is a learning experience and I might suggest some movement sequences to help you integrate and refine those new possibilities, make them part of your daily life.

Please wear something comfortable and loose. (make sure that your movement is not restricted by your clothing and your trousers allow your breath to expand in your belly). While relaxed during the session, similarly to when falling asleep, your body temperature might lower a bit, make sure you have an extra layer of clothes to keep you warm.
I charge on a sliding scale for an hour session between 60.00 and £75.00 an hour. The lower rates apply to block bookings and also your ability to pay would be considered on request.

Have you ever wondered how do we improve in action and how is it that we are capable of defying our own expectations? Or with other words ” How is it possible to outgrow our own skill and habits”?
That is possible in a Feldenkrais lesson as it is your nervous system that gets actively involved in the process of movement education. It is not all about biomechanics – it is also your ability to sense and navigate your physicality while interacting (ing) . With simple words you are not only the machine, you are also the navigator and if your sensors are not working very well or you are unable to read the data, then you might come to a state where your performance is not getting any better or the process of embodiment becomes difficult and painful, resulting in injuries and fatigue.
That is why, instead of being presented with a set of muscle toning exercises which will be repeated mindlessly, you will be guided through a large number of movement variations and sequences that have been put together to help you improve in a functional way your capacity to move with grace and ease. You will be increasing the ability to sense(perceive), think (interpret) and feel (understand) while giving your muscles a chance to experience a truly large range of situations. I will be there with you to help you enjoy your discoveries and remind you of key ideas which, if applied to your ways of the embodiment, will transform your capabilities. You will get the chance to create your own understanding of what is
the kind of understanding that will allow you to embody those qualities, increase the ease of motion and apply them to everything you do.
